Who would have thought that when we were making our spring to-do lists that we would have to be making them while quarantined in our homes? Many are not only worried about the spread of the novel coronavirus itself, but also what type of long-term economic impact this will have. In the beginning, many used the sudden time at home to binge Netflix, but as the quarantines are appearing to be lasting longer than hoped and now we’re all binged out on the latest TV series, what should we do now? How about tackling all those long-avoided home projects that never seemed to find themselves in your scheduled to-do list? Here are a few low- to no-cost ideas:

  1. Rearrange your furniture. If you’re stuck in your home, no need to stay stuck in a rut. Sometimes just rearranging a furniture layout can make a room feel new.

  1. Since we are eating at home a bit more than we are used to, why not break out the “for special occasion” dinnerware. Take advantage of the added family time and have a special meal together.

  1. One project that I hate is cleaning out my bathroom cabinets. You know all that stuff that is half-used or make-up you don’t wear. There is no better time than to clear all those things out than now. While you’re at it, go ahead and give your make-up brushes a good cleaning.

  1. Straighten up your closet and sort out all items to donate. Goodwill is still taking and in much need of donations. You can help a great cause while decluttering your home.

  1. Give your small kitchen appliances a good cleaning by wiping down the interior and exterior with the appropriate cleaner. Be mindful of areas like the toaster trap door to clean all areas of the appliance.
